ATOM is led by a six-member executive council that is elected by the membership. In addition, there are a number of sub-committees and cabinets addressing specific issues such as: Public Relations, Government Affairs, and Reimbursement, to name just a few.
ATOM is the voice of it's membership providing a means for all athletic trainers in Massachusetts to address issues as one unified group of professionals. ATOM is working for all athletic trainers in Massachusetts to lead the profession into the future.

Kathy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training from Bridgewater State College in 1989 and her Master of Science from California University of Pennsylvania in Exercise Science and Injury Prevention in 2006. She has been a practicing Athletic Trainer in the high school and clinical settings for the past 25 years. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a NASM – PES.
Currently Kathy is the Team Leader for Injury Prevention and Ergonomics in the Occupational Health Department at Southcoast Health. She supervises a team of 10 Athletic Trainers providing services within the occupational health department as well as outreach athletic training services to 10 area high schools. Her duties include ergonomic screening, injury investigations and she is spearheading the development of Southcoast Health’s Concussion Management Program.

Jennifer is in her first year as an assistant athletic trainer at Endicott College in Beverly MA. She is currently the coordinator of care for the men's soccer, men's and women hockey, women's basketball and women's lacrosse teams. In addition she is also a clinical preceptor to the Endicott College athletic training students.
Prior to working at Endicott College, Jenn attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst to obtain her Masters of Science in Kinesiology. While working towards her degree she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Smith College.
Jenn earned her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Westfield State University in May of 2012. She is certified by the Board of Certification and licensed in the state of Massachusetts.

Scot Spak is in his seventh year as an athletic trainer at MIT where he is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and treatment of all athletic related injuries and illnesses. He coordinates and oversees the medical care for the Engineers' football, sailing, softball, men's tennis, and track and field teams.
Most recently, Spak was selected as the treasurer of the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts professional organization. He is an approved preceptor for Boston University and continues to supervise and mentor BU athletic training students who study in MIT's Athletic Training Room. Spak served as an adjunct clinical professor for Boston University's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and is currently a Physical Therapy Mentorship Advisor through BU.
Prior to joining MIT in 2007, Spak was an assistant athletic trainer at Boston University. While at BU, he provided medical care for a majority of the student-athletes, including the basketball, field hockey, and women's lacrosse teams. Jess obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Northeastern University and then pursued a Masters of Education degree in Sports Psychology from Boston University. Jess was the Head Athletic Trainer of Campus Recreation at the University of New Hampshire for 4 years and was responsible for 27 sport clubs along with intramural and recreation athletes. For the past 8 years, Jess has been on the Sports Medicine staff at Massachusetts Institute of Technology assisting 33 intercollegiate sports with a primary focus on Men’s Basketball, Men’s Lacrosse, and Women’s Volleyball. She is an American Red Cross Instructor for Professional Rescuer and Lay Person CPR, First Aid, and AED training.

Brian began his athletic training career at UMASS Boston. After 18 years of service to UMASS, Brian transitioned his skills to serving as medical coordinator for some of the most prestigous events in the area. The US Figure Skating Championships, the American East Indoor Track and Field Championships, The New Balance Indoor Games, The BAA 10K and 5K Race, Cirque de Soleil, and The Boston Marathon, are just a few of the events that Brian has helped to organize.
Brian currently works for Children's Hospital Boston where he serves as the athletic trainer/coordinator for a multitude of Boston Public Schools. In addition to that he is also program coordinator of the Childrens Hospital Marino Lecture, the Female Athlete Symposium and the John Hancock Sports & Fitness Expo. Joe currently acts as the Manager of Injury Prevention and Ergonomics for Southcoast Health Systems. He is responsible for the management of a team of AT’s (Injury Prevention Specialists) who work to assist the Occupational and Employee Health departments in our health system to prevent and manage work related injuries.
Serving as the manager of the outreach athletic training program servicing 10 local high schools and several other athletic organizations, his staff provides daily athletic training services to the student athletes and participants of the athletic organizations. Biography
Cristina Haverty presently serves as Chair for the Athletic Training and Exercise Science Department, and is the Program Director of the Athletic Training Program at Lasell College, Newton, MA. Cris’ tenure at Lasell began in 2000, during the initial accreditation phase of the Athletic Training Program. Over the past thirteen years, Cris has been instrumental in leading the department through several re-accreditation processes to a successful position amongst athletic training programs in the region.
As an Athletic Training Educator, Cris’ scholarly activities focus on the development of leadership and management skills in athletic training students as well as the education of athletic trainers in clinical practice who serve as preceptors for athletic training students.
Prior to joining Lasell College, Cris was the Coordinator of Sports Medicine at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Assistant Athletic Trainer at Bridgewater State University.
While at Lasell College, Cris continued to practice as Head Athletic Trainer for United States Youth Soccer Region I Girls Olympic Development Program. Scott Gallon was hired in September and enters his first season as the head men’s basketball and men’s and women’s golf athletic trainer. Gallon worked as the associate head athletic trainer at The College of the Holy Cross for seven years, working on a day-to-day basis with the football, men’s basketball and baseball teams.
Prior to his stint at Holy Cross, Gallon spent three years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Massachusetts, where he worked with the field hockey, men’s and women’s swimming/diving, and baseball programs. He coordinated the medical coverage for the 2003 NCAA Championship and 2004 Atlantic 10 Championship in field hockey.
Gallon performed several internships early in his career at the collegiate and professional levels with the Cape Cod Baseball League (1999 & 2000), Springfield Falcons (1999-2000), Sarasota Red Sox (2001) and New England Patriots (2001).

Leah Poloskey received her PhD in Teaching and Administration, and her Master’s in Strength and Conditioning from Springfield College. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of New England in Athletic Training. She currently serves as a Clinical Faculty member in the Athletic Training Education Program in the Health Sciences Department at Merrimack College. Her research interests include athletic training education and novice preceptor development and training during clinical education. Leah holds certifications in strength and conditioning as well as athletic training. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Leah has served as a preceptor supervising undergraduate athletic training students for the past 8 years. She currently resides in Attleboro, MA with her husband Keith and two dogs, Toby and Olive.
